Blog post 7 Topic: Changes to my study programme

Today I will talk about changes that could be made to my study program. 

Recently in psychology a change to the curriculum was implemented. I am still in the old format and clearly there were things that did not work well, but I think that with the new curriculum they have been solved. 

I think there are some areas that are more demanding than others and that happens in all careers. Even so, I think that our professors in general have been quite considerate in terms of the academic load in the pandemic context. 

They have also been able to adapt their teaching techniques to virtual classes, but I think there is still a long way to go. Also, they have to understand that it is impossible to study all the contents that we used to see before, because the context has changed and being in online classes is extremely different from the face-to-face format. In this sense, I think there is still a long way to go in this area, but no one has the right answer because we are all learning as we go along. 

In terms of infrastructure, I think the Faculty of Social Sciences has a lot of progress to make. The rooms are very small, I remember that in some classes, some classmates had to sit on the floor because the chairs were simply not enough. While this is a problem that no one denies and facilities have been built to solve it, there is still a lot to do. Moreover, if we ever return to the presential context, with the new sanitary measures it would be practically impossible to maintain the social distance, because the space is too small.

Topic: Time travel to the future

Hello!

When I was younger I fantasized a lot about the idea of being able to travel to the future and be transported in flying cars... apparently this idea is not so far from today's reality.

But if I were to let my imagination run wild, the future would look like one with large inputs of vital resources such as food, water and air. By this I mean that there is currently a climate crisis that is overwhelmingly damaging ecosystems, although there are conditions that are out of our hands, much of the damage is produced by the advancement of the economic model.

In this sense I believe that in the future there must be devices that replace the indiscriminate extraction and pollution of companies. To look for new ways of doing economy, having as main objective the protection of nature.

I believe that technology must respond to the needs of the most vulnerable sectors of society, put at the service of its tools and perhaps formulate ways to generate food and water in large quantities to supply many people. In addition to being able to quickly build ecological housing for all people.

 Post 5 . My future job

Hello!

I like this topic because I am very good at planning a thousand future scenarios in my mind.

I am currently in my third year of psychology, it is a career that I like a lot, I hope to work in the community areas, in a job with a social approach and accompanying communities in the field. However, after a while I would love to study a few more years to be able to work in the clinical area. In that way I could be rescuing approaches of both to get the best tools, and help people in a better way.

But I do not want to stay only with that, my dream for several years is to learn English to work on a cruise ship, the position does not interest me much, I would value the experience as something unforgettable. The idea of traveling to different places and living in a city that floats excites me a lot. My other options are related to the idea of being able to travel while working, maybe in a tourism agency or something like that.

As for the salary, I personally expect a salary that is commensurate with my work, that values the time and effort invested. But, within my plans I hope it does not become a limitation.

Hello! 

Today I will talk about my favorite series.... Anne with e, and is that I have seen it many times since the quarantine began. It's about a little orphan girl who is adopted by mistake by the Cuthbert brothers, Anne, who turns out to be a very special girl, with a great imagination, bright and very talkative. She is charming and begins to endear herself to the brothers and everyone around her! 

The series touches on very relevant and necessary topics such as feminism, freedom of expression, respect, creativity, self-esteem, stereotypes, independence, child abuse, discrimination, sexual abuse and gender violence. All from a very sensitive focus that invites viewers to question these issues in our daily lives. 

As a personal detail, I must confess that the first time I saw the series I cried in almost every chapter, because I am super sensitive and more when I get so attached to characters. 

Unfortunately I recently found out that there will not be a fourth season, which makes me very sad because I feel that they tried to cut the series in a very forced way. 

But for my consolation and that of all the fans there is a complete saga of the books that inspired the series. 

 

 POST  3.Topic: Themed/Free post - career related

Hello!

I am studying Psychology today! I really knew I liked the career when I was in fourth grade. I was interested in it since I was very young, but I never thought of it as a career idea.

My grandmother had dementia and later Alzheimer's, which made me be close to this disease, with a lot of desire to help her. I think that was the starting point.

Today I am not really interested in the clinic. Lately I have discovered new areas of psychology that interest me. For example, I like the community area, specifically the one that works with socio-environmental conflicts. The organization of groups, and the identity that communities form, attracts my attention. I hope to work in an NGO that defends the rights of nature and communities.

I was surprised that psychology can reach these spaces.

I am not closed to the possibility of doing clinical therapy someday, because a part of me still wants to.

For now I am training with a lot of fear and insecurity because of the online classes, I know that many people are going through the same thing and somehow it will affect us in the future.

 

  Hello 

Today I am going to talk about my best vacation. 

When I was 5 or 6 years old I went to Pucon with my family, it was my first time there. I don't remember many things and I don't think they are that relevant. 

I remember that we stayed in a remote cabin but not so far from the town. For me the place was gigantic and very green, those were very happy days.

I played a lot with my older sister and my mother. We also spent whole afternoons at the lake, which I loved because I had only recently learned to swim. 

The most relevant thing for me was that one of the nights the Villarrica volcano erupted, nothing serious but for me, being a child, it was something impressive. I will never forget the image of the smoke coming out of the mouth of the volcano. 

That night I slept with my mom and sister because the subject of the volcano scared us all, I remember we ate ice cream until very late hahaha. 

Although it is not an outing with many places and adventures, I treasure in my heart those moments so new and intimate for my inner child. 

Blog 1: A country you would like to visit

Hello! 

I really want to know all the places in the world! It is a very ambitious idea but I would love to travel as much as possible. 

I would like to start by visiting Perú, a neighboring country, because I consider it a beautiful territory, with a very interesting culture. The landscapes look like something out of a fantasy. But what strikes me most is the Peruvian jungle or Amazon, which is located east of the Andes Mountains and extends to the Peruvian political borders with Brazil, Colombia and Ecuador, in the territory of the Peruvian departments of Loreto, Amazonas, San Martin, Ucayali and Madre de Dios.

I would like to explore, travel, learn about the culture and develop a relationship of respect and proximity to nature. I am interested in all the flora and fauna of these places, which is very different from the Chilean.

I hope my wish comes true
